It is time to celebrate some portfolio companies. These four startups have all announced new rounds in the last few months. And they deserve a lot of credit for their success. The new rounds validate what we already knew: that they are building something the world cares about and that they have meaningful businesses to be built.

Without further ado, congratulations to these teams:

PolicyGenius recently closed a $15 million Series B led by Revolution Ventures. It was my third investment in the company with all the earlier funds participating.

Mattermark just announced a $7.3 million Series B led by Foundry Group, with participation from existing investors. This too was my third investment in the company.

SketchDeck recently closed a $1.7 million seed extension, which included existing investors like Switch Ventures and new investors like Foundation Capital, Norwest Venture Partners, and Matrix Partners.

BrightFunnel closed a $6 million Series A led by Crosslink Capital, with returning investors, Karlin Ventures, Salesforce Ventures, and Bloomberg Beta.

Personally, I’m proud. I have a lot of confidence that these companies will change their industries.

I’ve been thinking a lot about follow-on funding rounds and my role supporting them as a seed investor. Without giving too much away, I will have more to say about that topic soon. Stay tuned!
